Today was a high-tempo test. First I wanted to try out Garmin’s Fit App for the iPhone and compare it to the edge 200 to give me an idea how to sell the edge 200 at work—i’m pushing the social media/training aspect; Strava and Garmin-Connect. I forgot to press start though, so that was a bother. Second, I wanted to try Rapha’s Pro Team Jacket and see how it compares to my current set-up for shorter, high tempo jaunts (gore ozon ls jersey and rapha gilet). the Pro Team Jacket coupled with a long sleeve base layer from x bionic was perfect. i got caught out in a bit of rain as well, so it met all conditions.
The Pro Team Jacket is my new favourite bit of kit, next to Assos Uno FI bibs. (best ever.) Now, I need to state a few things; I sweat. a lot. It’s embarrassing, but true. the fleeced back helped wick away a tonne of moisture. Brilliant. Next, the front was solid Soft-Shell. I had to unzip a bit it was warm. That being said, I’m prone to being colder than warmer on the bike, but not in a mehhhh-i’m-cold-can-we-stop-for-coffee-kind-of-way. More like the if-I-wear-anything-warmer-i’m gonna-get-soaked-with-sweat kind of way.
Recommended if you’re thinking about grabbing one.
The winter bike is a Marinoni Fango CX/Shimano 105/Hed Ardennes SL if you’re curious
I thought the jacket had a black armband??
